University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Dorm

The proposed $19 million, 490 bed dorm is located on the west bank of the Milwaukee River at North Avenue.  The project includes cafeteria food services, a convenience store/coffee shop open to the public, a landscaped plaza deck with a view of the river and one level of parking.  It is adjacent to and has direct access to the County of Milwaukee bike path system.  This will be primarily a freshman dorm for the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee campus located approximately 2 miles away.  The owner is the UWM Foundation.  The developer is Capstone/Direct Development.  The design architect is Design Collective, Inc. with Eppstein Uhen Architects as the Architect of Record.  The project is scheduled to start in June of 2006 and will be ready for occupancy in August of 2007.
